Why should I have a will?

A will is one of the four documents everyone should have first a will determines how one's assets are distributed after one's death. Secondly, in a will you appoint what's called a personal representative to do what you want. Some states they're called executor if you have a will and administrator if you don't have a will and Florida they're both refer to as personal representatives. This is someone you trust to do what you want them to do and those are probably the two main reasons. We can dispose of assets outside of probate by ways of joint ownership or designations such as payable on death but we never can be sure that we get all the assets and so in case something falls through the cracks. We have the safety net of the will also having someone that you trust to do what you want gives peace of mind.
