Does the person over whom guardianship is sought have to know that a petition for guardianship was filed?

The ward or alleged incapacitated person and a guardianship has to be notified that a proceeding was commenced even in an emergency temporary guardianship. The incapacitated person of proposed ward has to be notified further as a matter of law an attorney ad litem is appointed to represent them to make sure that their rights are protected.
